Ginger Bread
I told you that Santa Claus likes cinnamon, so you can’t help but make him some gingerbread men and a glass of milk for the eve night.
This recipe is extremely simple and I guarantee that you get the best gingerbread.
The best part is that the whole family can have fun decorating these cakes.
I leave you here the filmed recipe, and below I give you all the details.
You need:
- 450 g of flour
- 150 g brown sugar
- an egg
- 150 g of honey
- a tablespoon of baking soda
- vanilla essence
- 140 g of butter
- 3 tablespoons gingerbread spice mix (you can make it at home: 1.5 l cinnamon, 1/2 l ginger, 1/2 l cloves, 1/2 l nutmeg)
We will make the icing from
- 100 g powdered sugar (you can add more as needed, until you get the texture you want)
- an egg white
Decorate with candy
We put on the fire the honey, the sugar and the mixture of spices. After they have melted, add the vanilla essence and butter. Mix the baking soda with the flour and a pinch of salt. We put the mixture of honey and sugar over the flour. After it has incorporated well, add the egg.
After we get the dough, we divide it in two and leave it to cool for an hour.
We roll out the dough, make the gingerbread shapes and put them in the pan.
Put them in the preheated oven for 6-7 minutes at 180 degrees.
We are preparing the icing. Mix the egg whites with the powdered sugar, if necessary add more sugar until you get the desired consistency.
After we finish making the gingerbread, we decorate it to taste. (I also put the candies in the oven before I put them in the oven).
Good appetite!
