Walk of style in Beverly Hills and relaxation in Santa Monica

If you arrive to Los Angeles it is impossible not to make a small stop in Beverly Hills and not to enjoy a beach day in Santa Monica. So, this week we get to the West Coast of the United States of America.

Beverly Hills is just 19 km from LA. It’s very easy to get there and it’s a pity to miss a walk on some of the most famous and glamorous streets in the world.
Beverly Hills is basically surrounded by the cities of Los Angeles. Is the place where the big stars’houses are located, so If you’re a really big fan you will find the place where your favorite superstar lives.

We spent a wonderful day there because the weather is very friendly, we had a sunny sunny super day! The holiday atmosphere goes perfectly with the palm trees that crown the streets and make you always think about vacation! So, you are invited to do this, just to enjoy the surroundings.
A city that unlike Los Angeles is not crowded it’s quiet, everyone seems so calm there and all you can do is to ‘steal’ from their peace and silence.

1.Beverly Gardens Park
This is a must-see if you’re in the area. Get a photo in front of the sign. This is the place where you can enjoy a nice walk. It is lovely to have a walk in this place. The park hosts the Beverly Hills Art Show during third weekend in May and October. Beverly Gardens stretches 1.9 miles, from the stately Doheny Fountain to the illuminated Electric Fountain, with a narrow strip of lawn in between.

2.Rodeo Drive or Walk of Style
When you hear the name Beverly Hills, the words shopping and Rodeo Drive immediately spring to mind. Rodeo Drive is a two-mile long street replete with luxury, fashion, and entertainment, and one of the top Beverly Hills attractions. We’ve all dreamed of being Julia Roberts shopping on Rodeo Drive, but very few of us could actually afford to shop in the designer boutiques and flagship stores seen in the film Pretty Woman. Which means window-shopping is the order of the day.
Here you can find the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, where a lot of tv-series and movies were filmed (Escape from the Planet of the Apes, Clueless, Sex and the City, The Movie and Valentine’s Day, Pretty Woman.) Also, this hotel hosted important personalities of the world such as Elvis Presley, Warren Beatty and Steve McQueen.
On Rodeo Drive you can see the “Torso” statue which was built to commemorate the people who have made important contributions to fashion, design, and costume. That’s why the street is also called the “Walk of Style”.
The Bijan House is also on this magic street. This was described as the most expensive store in the world.

After a stylish walk through Beverly Hills we relaxed at the beach in Santa Monica. Is just 23 km from Los Angeles or 10 km from Beverly Hills. Nothing compares with the sunsets in California and what makes them even more great is that the sun is drowning in the ocean.
Here’s what we did here.

3. We enjoyed the sun and the ocean. Even if the waves are strong enough, they are perfect for those who want to surf. On this lovely beach where temperatures are very pleasant are many people practicing yoga. It seems that this is where they manage to connect with nature and with themselves.

4. Santa Monica Pier is a staple of this picturesque seaside community, jutting into the inviting waters of the Pacific Ocean. It’s packed with family-friendly activities, restaurants and shops, with stunning views and over a century’s worth of history. You can visit Pacific Park, home to the world’s only solar-powered Ferris wheel, as well as an exhilarating roller coaster that towers 17 meters above the Pacific Ocean. Just amazing!

5.Route 66: End of the Trail
A sign at the end of the Santa Monica Pier marks the end of the legendary American highway, symbolizing that this road only ended when the sea stood in its way.
Route 66 was originally a long road of 2.451 miles which connects Chicago city (Illinois) to Santa Monica (California). Starting with 1926 it was one of the first modernized road links to the West Coast. It was also named Mother Road or Main Street of America.

That’s how the days were around LA. Sunny, relaxing days with luxury, beach and famous movies. The West Coast of America is always surprising. It worth visiting!
