Grand Canion-Grand Dream

This week I invite you in a virtual trip in United States of America, in Arizona at the Grand Canyon and I hope that after this trip I’ll convince you to go there for real to see this amazing place and feel the special vibration that it has.

When I am very busy and tired and the only free time that I have is the time between my rehearsals and theater I am taking energy from my memories. Memories from nice, calm and peaceful places I’ve been. Grand Canyon is one of those places. It is incredible how our affective memory is working and is recharging our battery and helps us go further.

Grand Canyon is a steep-sided canyon carved by the Colorado River in Arizona. It is 277 miles (446 km) long, up to 18 miles (29 km) wide and attains a depth of over a mile (6,093 feet or 1,857 meters). Colorado River established its course through the area about 5 to 6 million years ago. Since that time, the Colorado River has driven the down-cutting of the tributaries and retreat of the cliffs, simultaneously deepening and widening the canyon.

No matter how many pictures or movies with this place you’ll see nothing compares with the sensation of being there. It is a place that leaves you speechless.  Grand Canyon fills your heart with joy. That’s why it has 5 millions of tourists every year.

On our way to Grand Canyon we stopped at Hoover Dam. This is a concrete arch-gravity dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the border between the U.S. states of Nevada and Arizona. It has 379 m lenght and 221 m height it was considered for 20 years the highest Dam in the world.

After this stop we finally arrived at the Grand Canyon here we spent a whole day and it was great! You just can’t get enough. I wanted to stay there and just look at the scenery forever. Also, it is so big that you always have something to explore there. When simply look and it I felt so small, but this made me feel so great that I am part of this amazing Universe. I am so gratefull for that.

Also, there you can do a lot of cool stuff if you are planning your trip in advance. You can go rafting, for that you have to drive outside the national park and go to Williams. There the company that organise the tour you pick you up and go by bus at Hualapai Tribal Park (this trip is around one hour). For this experience you have to pay around 600$. If  you wish for a baloon ride you have to go in Phoenix, 380 km away from the park, the trip is about 4 or 5 hours and costs 175-200$. Also you can ride a donkey or you can enjoy the Grand Canyon view from the helicopter.  All of this sounds great, but you need time and money to do that.

Grand Canyon was considered a holly place, that’s why here took place many pilgrimages, but people still confess that this is a special place with a very good energy. This are was and still it is occupied by native americans. It was great to meet this people and find out more about their culture and to observ how much respect they have for this peace of land. Just amazing! On this teritori are living five „indian tribes”: Hopi, Havasupai, Paiute, Hualapai and Navajo. At the souvenirs shop we found a lot of interesting things made by them. Also, they gave us a certificate that we visited the Gran Canyon, a very nice souvenir to keep in our box with memories.

It is very easy to arrive at the Grand Canion if you are visiting Las Vegas. Just five hours by car and you are there. It worth it.

Grand Canyon is a place where you feel like you don’t need something else, just being there is enough. I think the images talk for themselves. Enjoy!
