Walking through Nice

This week we arrive on Cote D’Azur. A wonderful place! One of the most desired destinations where refinement and luxury are in the house.

Nice is a city with a regal and precious vibe, a place where you can enjoy some beautiful beaches and an amazing color of the water. Blue, blue, blue! This is a place full of culture.

Large boulevards, gardens, parks, palm trees, bohemian air, it is a place where you always feel like in a perfect vacation. Here you find a lot of good restaurants where your taste will be in “the seventh heaven”.

I told you earlier that here is a lot of culture, you can enjoy: the Matisse museum, the contemporary art museum and museum Massena. Also, just walking around the city the architecture and the buildings will introduce you in a special atmosphere. It is a place where a lot of artists found their inspiration, even more the kings and their queens were coming to Nice for vacation. The scenery here is just amazing.

The advantage of this beautiful place is that from here you can reach some other jewelry: Monaco and Cannes.

Our stay in Nice was always too short than how I wanted it to be, but here is what we visited and loved.

  1. First we walked on Promenade des Anglais. It is so called because it was created by the English, who in the late 18th century would often spend their holidays along this lovely stretch of coast. It was built in 1820 and since then we can very much enjoy it! It has a length of 7 km, 7 km of sea side. Just lovely! You can walk during the day or during the night, anytime feels so good. On the walkway, a pretty division between the sea and the palm trees, you can do jogging, there were a lot of people doing that. What a perfect place for some sports! In the same time you can just sit on a bench and enjoy the view or you can go to the beach and get some tan.
  2. Place Massena. After a nice walk along the coast we entered in the heart of the city. The architecture of Nice is a very good material to stare at, the nice buildings are built in Belle Epoque, Art Nouveau or Art Deco style, giving to the place a noble air. The city has a lot of imposing palaces and villas. In the center it was a very nice square where I was impressed by the fountains. This fountains offer a splendid show when yhey are turned on but also when turned off because the sky was mirroring in the floor. Wow! There are 7 statues that symbolize the 7 continents. In the evening these are changing their color which is a sign of their communication.
  3. Notre Dame de Nice. It is one of the biggest chruches in Nice. The neo-gothic arhitecture is very impresive. It is built in the same style as the Paris one, with white marble and towers. Notre Dame was built in the 19th century.
  4. Vieux Nice. The old center of this town is a place where you can buy souvenirs, eat crepes or seafood, ice cream and enjoy all the restaurants with delicious food.
  5. After you finished exploring the city you should go and relax on the beach. Nice is well known for the rocky beaches, but pretty close, like 20 minutes by walk we found the paradise: a very beautiful sandy beach. It worked perfect with the blue sea.
  6. Port of Nice. A nice walk in the port can finish with a boat ride which completed our trip on Cote D’Azur.

One of the most famous places on Cote D’Azur, Nice has many advantages: beautiful beaches, blue turqoise water color, hills, a bit of mountains, a perfect weather, warm and sunny, without windy periods. Furthermore, here you may find romantic sunsets, palm trees, big boulevards, parks, green places, a lot of nice restaurants and many possibilities to have fun. A place where I know that I didn’t spend enough time and I want to go back and discover more!
